Announcing the Viet Nam Korea Cross Border Fund Partnership between KVCA and VPCA
The Vietnam Private Capital Agency (VPCA) and the Korean Venture Capital Association (KVCA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch the Viet Nam Korea Cross Border Fund Partnership. VPCA warmly welcomed Chairman Kim Hak Kyoon and the KVCA delegation to Viet Nam for this milestone.
🌏 This partnership builds on a natural foundation. For more than three decades, Korea has been one of Viet Nam's most trusted partners. Korea is today Viet Nam's largest foreign investor, with nearly 100 billion US dollars of registered capital, and its third largest trading partner, with both governments targeting 150 billion in bilateral trade by 2030. Viet Nam, in turn, is Korea's largest economic partner in ASEAN. The government relationship is strong. The corporate relationship is strong. This MOU addresses the layer that comes next: capital.
📈 The synergy runs deep. Korea has built one of the most sophisticated venture and private equity industries in Asia, a strong institutional LP base, and in KOSDAQ one of the world's most active technology exchanges. Viet Nam brings a market of 100 million people, a median age in the early thirties, and a generation of ambitious, technical founders ready to build across borders.
🚀 Together, the two organizations aim to support joint funds run by Korean and Vietnamese GPs, open investment flows in both directions, and build real pathways to exit, including cross listing portfolio companies on each other's capital markets.
💼 VPCA is committed to making this an effective working platform, not just a document. The next chapter of the Viet Nam and Korea relationship will be written in funds, in founders, and in the companies both ecosystems grow together.
