VPCA Hosts "Unlock Vietnam's Next Chapter" Power Breakfast in Singapore‍

Singapore, 1 October 2026

On the sidelines of SuperReturn Asia, the Vietnam Private Capital Agency (VPCA) hosted the "Unlock Vietnam's Next Chapter" Power Breakfast, co-hosted with Mekong Capital and held at the offices of Mitsui & Co. The invitation-only session drew a full house of limited partners, development finance institutions, and institutional investors with a shared interest in Vietnam.

A market entering a new phase

The morning opened with a welcome from Mia, followed by an introduction to VPCA from Executive Director Mike Nguyen. He outlined VPCA's vision of helping Vietnam's private capital industry reach USD 35 billion by 2035.

"Vietnam is building the full investment cycle for the first time, from VC to PE to IPO," said Mike Nguyen. "VPCA's role is to be the trusted front door for global capital, connecting investors with the managers, advisors, and policymakers who are shaping this market."

Key insights from BCG

A BCG partner then presented the case for a strategic window opening in Vietnam:

- Macro tailwind: Vietnam is ASEAN's fastest-growing economy, with annual funding needs estimated at around USD 270 billion by 2030. Capital markets are expected to grow from 12–17% to more than 25% of total funding.

- Reforms at the right pace: FTSE Emerging Market inclusion is confirmed, new trading infrastructure is live, governance standards are converging with international practice, and the Vietnam International Financial Centre is taking shape.

- Results on the board: The VN-Index rose 41% in 2025, the fastest in Southeast Asia. Daily turnover reached USD 1.2 billion and disbursed FDI reached USD 28 billion.

- The next phase: With a USD 3–5 billion IPO pipeline for 2026–27, the path from VC to PE to IPO is opening opportunities for both private and public investors.

The long view to 2045

Chad then presented the outlook for 2030 to 2045, examining the national agenda for building domestic champions and the role private capital can play in delivering it. The session closed with an open Q&A and discussion among participants.
